What is Golden Milk?

Under this mysterious name hides an amazing Ayurvedic drink with many wonderful properties for our body. This is mainly due to its main ingredient, curcumin, which is most likely the most powerful natural antineoplastic nutrient that exists.

Ayouvedic Treatments

Ayurvedic medicine is based on natural healing methods. Uses herbal medicine, cleansing treatments, properly composed diet, physical exercise, yoga practice, working with emotions. It is focused mainly on prevention and achieves the highest effectiveness in the case of diseases in the early stages of development, which it detects thanks to well-developed diagnostics. In the case of advanced diseases, it relieves side effects and shortens convalescence time.

Ayurveda teaches that man is one with the cosmos, and the human body is a reflection of the order that prevails in it. The universe consists of five elements: earth, ether, air, fire and water, which remain in a dynamic balance. The psychophysical structure of man reflects this cosmic order, and diseases are the result of its disruption. Therefore, Ayurvedic treatment does not focus on the diseased organ, but on restoring balance in the body. At all levels of the individual’s existence (not only in the physical sphere), but it also seeks out the causes of the disorder and tries to eradicate it so that the natural flow of energy will return.

Why use coconut milk?

There are many varieties of golden milk, but most are based on coconut milk or are with the addition of coconut oil. By combining Curcuma with coconut we get not only a rich, thick, creamy base but also additional health benefits – it’s lauric acid, which is rarely found in nature. The body converts lauric acid to monolaurin, a monoglyceride that can fight viruses such as influenza and herpes, measles, bacteria and some protozoa, and even fight against HIV. Lauric acid is part of fatty acids and is therefore easily digested and permeates through the walls of cell membranes. In the liver, it is immediately transformed into energy, not stored as fat. In addition, coconut milk/oil is rich in antioxidants, vitamin E, C, B vitamins, phosphorus, magnesium, potassium and iron.

Golden Milk recipes

There are two methods for preparing golden milk. You can blend all ingredients then simmer on the stove to cook the turmeric, or make a turmeric paste and add it to milk and spices as needed. The most important aspects are that the turmeric needs to be combined on whole milk (because it works better with fat) and cooked with black pepper ( because pepper increases the absorption of the curcumin).
